ATB Cycling Program

Thank you for joining us for our 2026 season!

We look forward to welcoming you again in 2026 for another successful year.

Trev Williams | Calgary Head Coach

Growing up in an active family and raised surrounded by the community of the local run club, Trev started coaching and gathering similar communities at quite a young age. While completing his Master's at UVic, Trev lead and expanded the University Triathlon club, then while completing his doctorate at UofC, he helped found and lead the largest road cycling club in Alberta. During these times, he realized the impact of a supportive community to enable the enjoyment of a hobby for a lifetime. In 2010, Trev founded The Doctrine, a company centered on creating communities based around healthy lifestyles and fundamentally sound coaching of cycling, running, and triathlon. Trev owns two indoor cycling studios where members enjoy coaching from his team, connecting with other members, and progressing their knowledge and skill of cycling and running throughout the winter. Over the summer he and his team lead corporate clubs outside that use cycling as an opportunity to network, connect socially, and become more competent cyclists.

Bruce Copeland | Edmonton Head Coach

Bruce began road cycling in his late 30’s when introduced to it by friends in the Edmonton squash community as a great way to train. With some encouragement, he started racing and moved through the Provincial ranks to the top tier of Alberta categories. Riding for Edmonton Road and Track Club, then Juventus Cycling Club, he had an affinity for time trials, competing in many editions of National Road Championships. Cycling took Bruce and his wife Susan through Western Canada and the Western United States competing in many high-level events. Bruce reduced his racing schedule in 2012 to ride more casual events and work more with Juventus CC.

Since 2000, Bruce has worked with Juventus CC as Program Director for the Road Endurance program and completed the NCCP Level 3 Road and Level 1 Track coaching certification. He has coached a number athletes in road and cyclocross disciplines. He has also worked on the Board of the Alberta Bicycle Association, as a Race Organizer and Technical Director for races including the 2010 Tour of Alberta and Canadian National Road Championship ITT in 2022.

Bruce loves to share his passion for cycling through coaching, mentoring and sharing lots of stories. Bruce worked with Kinley Gibson as Assistant for the 2021 season and moved to Head Coach last year. Bruce is excited to continue with the ATB Cycling Program for 2023.
